E-Visas are now available for tourists from 113 countries including Lithuania and Poland. Information on the e-Tourist visa scheme and application form is available at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html. The Embassy of India in Warsaw will continue to facilitate travel to India. E-Visa is available for travellers who are visiting India fro sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, recreation, medical treatment or business visit purposes. Visas for not mentioned categories are available through the agency BLS International (http://www.blsindiavisa-lithuania.com).

Citizens of the eligible countries can apply online for eTV (three times a year, each visit not exceeding 60 days, visa duration non-extendable) which shall be granted through email. The applicant should carry a print of this email and can travel to India through 26 designated international airports (Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bangalore, Calicut,  Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Gaya, Guwahati,  Jaipur, Lucknow, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mongalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Trivandrum, Tiruchirapalli and Varanasi etc.) and 5 Seaports (Cochin, Goa, Mangalore etc.). However, the foreigner can take an exit from any of the authorised Immigration Check Posts in India. The eTV scheme entails capture of biometric data of the visitor on arrival at the airport.

Applicants of the eligible countries may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the date of arrival with a window of 120 days. Example: If you are applying on 1st September then you can select arrival date from 5th September to 2nd January.

  • Who can apply for E-tourist visa?

International Travellers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit. Visa for non-tourist categories or travel exceeding 60 days period of stay is available through the agency BLS International.

  • When should one apply for E-tourist visa?

Applicants of the eligible countries may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the date of arrival with a window of 120 days.

  • What documents are needed for the online application?

Recent front facing photograph (max. 300 kB) with white background and photo page of Passport in .pdf format containing personal details like name, date of birth, nationality, expiry date etc. to be uploaded by the applicant. The application is liable to be rejected if the uploaded document and photograph are not clear and as per specification. The passport should be valid for a minimum of 180 days at the time of application. 

  • Payment window/platform is crashing and there was no "Thank you" window. What should I do?

If after the filling the payment process the website or "Thank you" window crashed, or you were returned to the first page, most likely the payment was not processed and you should try once again. The best option would be to check your bank or credit account - if the fee was transferred, but the website for eTV payment is still crashing, there is a possibility that payment went through. If after 72 hours one has not received any confirmation letter to the email given in the application (please, check the spam box also), but the payment was made, contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. One should also have in mind that the maximum try count for the payment is 3, the application ID would be blocked and one should apply afresh by filling the application form again and regenerating a new application ID. 

Before re-applying, the applicant is requested to wait for 4 hours for payment status updating, after final submission of the application form and payment of the fee. The payment status updating may take up to 4 hours.

  • When should I expect the application to be processed?

Response for the application should be received within 72 hours after successful payment.

  • Can e-Visa be extended after 60 days?

No, e-Visa period cannot be extended. If a longer period of stay is needed, the applicant should apply for a visa at the BLS International.

  • How long will the process at the migration station at the Indian airport last?

The collection of biometric data might take up to 2 hours.

  • If I am a foreign national residing in Lithuania, how can I apply for a visa to India?

If you are a national of one of the 113 countries (Check here), you can apply for online visa. If your country of origin is not on the list, visa can be issued through BLS International, but the process might take up to 3 weeks and longer.   • What are the other types of visas?

  • I would be changing flights/airports in India in order to travel to my final destination. Do I need a visa to change flights/airport terminals?

Yes. You need to apply for a Transit Visa if you are going to change from the International Terminal to the Domestic Terminal of any Indian airport or if you are going to stay in an airport hotel even for a few hours. The maximums period of stay in India permitted by the Transit Visa is 72 hours for each entry and is issued only when Transit/Travel is by air. The Transit Visa is valid for 15 days only.

In case you remain within limits of the waiting area reserved for International Transit Passengers of the Indian Airport and are not going to cross the Immigration Control at any time, you do not need a Transit Visa.

  • Do I need a visa if I am going on a cruise?

Yes, you need a visa to travel to India. If you are travelling on a cruise, then you may mention the port in India and attach the cruise itinerary along with it. If you are travelling on the Invitation of an Indian company, you need to provide a letter of incorporation of the Company in India.
